There is a lot of work ahead prepping the car, and I may not get all of it done before the season starts. Much depends on the weather – it’s been far too cold for working in an unheated garage, with temperatures last month hovering well below freezing for weeks. Hopefully that means fewer mosquitoes this year, but it kept the car tucked away out of the elements, and me hiding under a blanket with a book as well. In fact, I’ve managed to put only about 70 miles on the car since I got it!
This week brought a couple days up in the range that’s decent for working with large masses of steel sitting on concrete… and before anything changes, I wanted to get a baseline.
It took me longer than planned (it always does!) but here it is. This is ~75 miles out of a full tank of gas and no one in the car. There are many reasons this car is lauded as incredibly well balanced from the factory, and this might suggest why. 9lb cross-weight difference and just over 2800lbs total, including tools and spare in the trunk.
Weather isn’t all better yet, but it’ll be good enough in spurts, so the mountain of boxes currently being obnoxious in a corner of the house will start to dwindle as I start working through and getting them on the car.
